Confidential Financial Services Client Data Center: Phase I, II, III
Confidential Location, US
Page worked with this confidential financial services client to design data centers in several geographic regions in North America. This project was a four-phase renovation and addition to an existing 420,000 square foot, two-story structure on a 28-acre site.
Three data halls were originally planned for the first floor of the facility with a large call center on the second level. Based on the client’s priorities, Page redesigned the facility to eliminate the call center and dramatically expand the amount of data hall space by moving all the data halls to the second floor and placing support infrastructure on the ground floor – all without disrupting the active data hall on the ground floor. The result was a 445,000 square foot data center with 85,375 square feet of raised floor.
New infrastructure for the facility includes a generator plant, fuel storage yard, cooling towers, high temp and low temp chiller plants, thermal storage, make up water storage and a water-side economizer system. The building was hardened to resist EF-2 tornado events without disruption to operation of the facility and support up to 300 pounds per square foot on the second floor. Additional improvements include a new roofing system, exterior and interior security upgrades and re-purposing of the extensive parking lots.
This project achieved LEED Gold certification.
