John D. Major AIA
Principal / Science & Technology
John Major tells clients and colleagues alike the same thing: you can’t predict the future, you can only prepare for it. That fits the nature of his role at Page perfectly. As Project Director for Mission Critical projects, which range from keeping commercial airliners aloft to preventing wireless network outages or banking system failures, John knows the importance of preparation.
He learned this firsthand as an undergraduate student from what remains one of the most challenging assignments he’s ever faced. He had a short-term stint in the South Pole where even travel to the research facility there is considered hazardous and everyday activities such as brushing teeth, choosing one’s outfit for the day and working outdoors require forethought. Preparing for alternate scenarios in the South Pole is a common activity that remains a part of John’s daily work.
John has over two decades of architectural experience and has managed the design of more than 30 data centers in the last eight years, leveraging his expertise in communication and resolution of the needs and interests of disparate users, neighboring communities and institutions. His projects have accounted for more than $2.5 billion in construction costs throughout the United States.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Houston and a Master of Science degree in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University.
