Pager Recognized by Austin Woman Magazine

Pager Gaby O’Hearn was recently recognized by Austin Woman Magazine 2017 Woman’s Way Business Awards. As one of three finalists in the category of Woman-led Business of the Year Under $1 Million, Gaby makes running her brick-and-mortar design shop as a side gig to a full-time professional career in marketing look easy. Located in the hip South First Street / Bouldin Creek neighborhood, her shop Jack & Lola offers curated, handmade and one-of-a-kind home and specialty goods. Austin Woman Magazine notes, “Jack & Lola reflects the local scene of Austin’s overflow of creative artisans and makers.”

Named after her grandparents, Gaby opened the shop in 2016. “The Texas stars aligned perfectly and I was able to bunk up, so to speak, with an existing company Fortress of Inca and share space in South Austin,” says Gaby. “Through architecture school and beyond I longed for a boutique specializing in home goods and accessories, somewhere I could put my design education into practice.”

Her role as a marketing coordinator keeps her busy during the day and Gaby spends most of her nights and weekends at the store. Free time has been rather scarce. “This little adventure is mine,” says Gaby. “I built it and I am making it all work.”

Austin Woman Magazine clearly agrees with her: “Jack & Lola is more than just a shop or a company; it is an all-women team that works together to accomplish great things.”
